Class Descriptions:

Moksha class (60, 75, or 90 min) - 40 poses practiced in a heated room designed to promote openess through your hips and strength through the upper body while detoxifying your entire body. Both standing and seated poses are practiced and classes are suitable for all levels of experience.

Yin (60 or 90 minute) - Yoga poses are practiced with long holds designed to focus the stretch on connective layers of  superficial and deep fascia . All poses are seated or reclined. A great compliment for runners, cyclist or if you have to sit at a computer all day! This is a challenging  and slow practice suitable for all levels.

Yang/Yin - Reduced heat class. Moksha & Yin class offering a great Yang (Moksha) invigorating workout - followed by restorative, relaxing Yin postures challenging you to let go.

Flow (RH=Reduced Heat/NH=Non-Heated): Vinyasa- This class is focused on synchronized movement with breath. Flowing the postures together it becomes like a dance, challenging you to let go.

Hatha (Hot and non-heated)- Taking your time with each posture to explore the body.  Using different breathing techniques and meditation.

Karma Class - A regular Moksha or Moksha Mix class offered on a donation ($5 min) basis. Funds raised go to local charities. (No passes).

Teen Yoga (ages 14-17yrs) - This is an introductory class for teens to creatively discover yoga and yoga principles. This class will enhance physical, mental and emotional vitality to help cultivate inner peace, balance, strength and stability. The class will move through poses, taking the time to learn the body and become aware of the breath with the movement. A relaxation and meditation practice will also be explored. Through this practice teens will develop a sense of confidence and courage, creating an awareness of their connection to themselves and their world.

Kids Yoga (ages7-12yrs) - Turn those silly nillies into creative awareness with yoga postures. Gaining awareness of body and breath with yoga fun will feel good for the body and enhance of strength and confidence.

Community Class (90 minute) - The regular Moksha series taught by recent graduates from the Moksha Yoga Teacher Training program. Free for students that hold unlimited passes, otherwise cost is $5.00. Suitable for students of all levels; a great opportunity for students and teachers to share their knowledge and experience with one another. Feedback for the learning teacher is encouraged!

Music Moksha - As the instructor quietly cues you in and out of the moksha series let the music and breath carry you to the depth of each asana (pose).

Economy Moksha - Regular heated Moksha class for $8. Economy on cost but not on sweat!

Core Flow - This class will blend Sun Salutations into flowing core-centric postures stabilizing abdominal, pelvic floor, and spinal muscles.

Eldoa/MFS Class - Elongation Longitudinally with Decoaptation Osteoarticular
Guy Voyer has developed an ELDOA exercise for every articulation in the spine starting at the base of the skull and ending with the sacro-illiac joint. Disc compression existing at any level of the spine can be addressed through a specific ELDOA exercise.

The goal of each ELDOA exercise is to create fascial tension above and below the joint or disc that one is trying to "open up" or decompress.

The benefits include:

  • Reduced vertebral compression
  • Improved circulation
  • Spinal disc re-hydration
  • Increased muscle tone and awareness

The effects of the decoaptation results in reabsorption of the intervertebral
disc, postural normalization, increased proprioception of the specific
articulation, and improved kinesthetic awareness of the myofascial chain.
For all of the above reasons this becomes an excellent restorative
exercise.  You must drink water regularly, and be hydrated to maximize the benefits of these exercises.

Moksha/Yin Combo - The best of both! A balanced moksha class incorporating dynamic movement to build strength and generate heat with flow (Yang) transitioning into long-held passive postures encouraging a softer and deeper practice (Yin).
